UP High?Nope,it's OURAN High!!

I've already shared to you that I'm a certified anime fanatic.I love anime so much and I've watched a lot of them already.I want to share to you one of the best anime that I've seen.I've mentioned this already from my other post here. It's entitled, the Ouran High school Host Club.
I first heard this anime from my friend,Nneka who is also an anime lover.I wasn't really that interested at first but when my classmate Gilphanie kept telling me that it was nice,I then started to like it.Gilphanie lent me her Ouran High school Host Club DVD for me to watch. So I watched it the whole day in a Saturday morning. And it was really nice,as in,superb!!It was so funny and so romantic too.The characters are so beautiful and well-drawn.It's a story about a girl named Haruhi. She is a poor student or as what they call it,a "commoner".She is a scholar of Ouran Academy.Ouran Academy is defined as,one, prestigious families and two, wealth. She first encountered the Host Club when she was finding a room to study and noticed an unused Music Room in the third floor. She went inside and met the Host CLub members there.Ouran High school Host Club is defined as handsome boys who have time giving "hospitality" to beautiful girls who also have time. Unluckily,Haruhi broke a vase worth 8 million yen!The Host Club members, not knowing that Haruhi was a girl because of her civilian clothes (she can't afford to buy her own uniform, for girls),her thick eyeglasses (she lost her contact lenses) and because of her very short hair (a child put a bubble gum in it so she cut it) ,decided to make her as the Host Club "dog" or in other word,a servant. There, she worked as a servant until they discovered that she was "good-looking" and was suitable to be a Host. They made her a Host club member and decided that if she gets 100 customers, her debt will be paid (they still didn't know that she was a girl except for Kyouya).Until Tamaki, the founder of the Host Club, accidentally saw her changing her uniform (they lent her one when she became a Host Club member). He then knew that she was a girl. The Host Club consits of six handsome men before Haruhi arrived. The one who started this club was Tamaki Suoh.He is the so called "king" of the club.He was the very last person in the host club who knew that Haruhi was a girl.Kyouya Ootori is considered to be the "shadow king" of the club.He was the first one who discovered that Haruhi was a girl.He wears eyeglasses that makes him more respectable and handsome.Next in line are the Hitachiin twins. They are Kaoru and Hikaru. They are so identical that people don't know which one is Hikaru and which one is Kaoru. But when Haruhi arrived, she was the only one who can tell which one was Kaoru and Hikaru. The two other members are Haninozuka Mitsukuni and Morinozuka Takashi. They are the oldest members of the group while Haruhi and the twins are the youngest.Mitsukuni is the shortest member(4'5 ft) which is exactly opposite of Morinozuka because he is the tallest memeber of the group(6'2 ft). They are the people who make Haruhi's stay in Ouran more exciting and fun.
Hope you understood my summary of the story.Just watch it and I guarantee you that you will really love it too.You can really relate with it because it's a story about high school friendship and highschool love. So,that's all, hope you liked it!!!

Something About Sci-tech Week..

Last month,we just had our Sci-tech week.It was a very hectic week.During that week, there were science congress and science fair performed by the 4th year students in UP.The projects also of the 1st,2nd and 3rd years were presented.

Eventhough students were very busy that week preparing for their projects,it was still fun because there were no classes. Each day,we have an activity so we don't have any classes. But that Thursday during that week,we had a class the whole day and our teachers managed to give us new lessons to study.Eventhough we had a class that day, during the next day was the closing of the Sci-tech week.We had game and radio quiz. That day too was the awarding of the winners in the contests in each year levels. In the first years was the slogan writing contest. In the second years was the contest in reused geometrical figures. In the third years was about the titration of diffeent kinds of vinegars. And in the fourth years was their investigatory projects during the science congress ans science fair. The winners in the slogan writing contest were already announced.I thought that it was just going to be a boring awarding ceremony but it was not.During the announcing of the winners for the contest in reused geometrical figures .I really didn't hope or wish to win because I really didn't think that our project could win.But when it announced that the first place went to our KOKO robot project,I really could not believe it!Even my other groupmates in that project didn't expect that blow.At first,I thought, maybe I heard it wrong but I can't deny it.I heard it with my newly cleaned ears!I was still shocked that time and I don't know what to do.My other groupmate,Mary Jale, kept telling me that we should go to the stage to get our price but I told her to go alone because I don't want to be exposed. When she already got our prize, she then let me and our other groupmate,Grechelle,to see what our prize was.Three hundred pesos! It's not like everyday that you have a free one hundred pesos! We are only three in the group so it was really a coincidence to have exactly three hundred pesos as the cash prize which meant that each one of us can get ne hundred pesos. The awarding continued and declared the winners for the 3rd year and 4th year contests. Many students were surprised too when they heard their teams or groups being called. Many went home happy that day, many went home sad for not winning but for sure, veryone really enjoyed that Sci-tech week we had.

That Sci-tech week we had was really enjoyable with all the activities and educational contests. It was a very memorable week for me not just because I won something that week but because I learned some new interestng things about science that week.So let us improve Filipino lives through technological and scientific development!(chaar!)

My KOKO Robot

At first, I really didn't think that this KOKO robot project of mine and my two other classmates who were Mary Jale and Grechelle was going to be special to us.But during the awarding ceremony of our Sci-tech week, was the most unexpected thing that we have encountered. That day,KOKO robot was not just our project for the reused geometrical figure,it was a blessing in disguise.

KOKO robot was born during a dull Saturday morning inside our classroom which was the Palma room. This robot was not really planned to be made at all.It started when our teacher, Mrs.Kerr told the whole second year students to form one group with four members because she will give us a project. She then told us about the project which was to build a geometrical figure made up of reused things.I then asked Mary Jale to be a groupmate and we went to find another groupmate.Grechelle then became our other groupmate but we are lacking a 4th member for the project. We tried to look for a 4th member but it seemed that nobody was available already so we just decided to have the three of us as a group. It was also that time that we had a very long semestral break because of the ASEAN summit.Days passed without classes and me and my groupmates didn't care to plan any geometric at all.The three of us have communication but still we haven't decided to do any move yet because of laziness. We still want to enjoy the free days to enjoy watching television,to do anything that you want to do.Then days passed by and classes came quickly.Classes started again so we then met and plan to do something which was a failure. We have no idea on what to build. The deadline was getting nearer and nearer and still we haven't decided what to do yet. Then we came into a conclusion to build a robot.I suggested it.Some of our classmates told us that it was very hard to build a robot and that many of our classmates are also building a robot too but we continued on what we have planned. We planned to do it on a Saturday morning, same Saturday when we have a make-up class for P.E.There on the Palma floor, pieces of KOKO robot lay.Mary Jale and Grechelle brought different sizes of boxes while I brought the adhesives and I also bought the gluestick. We then started to form a robot. We didn't have any model to follow,we just kept on putting the boxes together and putting adhesives in it and ola!!We have formed a robot in less than one hour!At first,it can't stand on its own so we did something to balance it.When it was finished we then thought of a name for it.At first it was just a joke that we named it KOKO robot because the box that represents its body is a koko krunch box,but we then decided to baptize it as KOKO robot. We have seen the projects of our fellow Sophies and they were really beautiful and creative not like ours. The other projects were painted to make them more beautiful,it was really obvious that they really tried hard to come up with a beautiful projects again, not like us.

So awarding ceremony came and unexpectedly, the effortless made robot won the first place! And the surprise did not end there yet,as a price of winning the first place,we have received three hundred pesos! It was like it was really planned that we only have three members in the group. Each one of us had one hundred pesos. There then,I learned that we must not extenuate what we have made or anything that you are part of,instead we must be proud about it and see the nice side of it.KOKO robot, simply amazing!

I LOVE ANIME!!

Have you watched the anime Fushigi Yugi?Flame of Recca?Fruits basket?Or Cardcaptor Sakura?Sure there are a lot of anime movies now.I don't know about you but I have always been an anime fanatic!!

I don't know what makes me really love anime but I just can't resist watching it.There was one time that my mom scolded me because I was watching a DVD which was an anime movie the whole day.I don't know what's with the big eyes, the pointed nose and the sharp chin that attracts me.I just see the anime characters very beautiful.I also want to draw some anime characters because they have very cute and unique outfits.Even me,I don't know why I really like watching anime movies.I just find them very amusing and funny. Some are also romantic and inspiring.Watching anime movies does not give us only laughters and enjoyment,we can also learn values from them. Some anime's tell about friendship, about love, about family and many more.I love watching anime movies because it makes my imaginations more creative and artistic.I love it because it has something that makes me satisfied and it also has something that makes me so eager to watch it.I also get some new ideas from them. When I watch anime movies,I forgot some of my problems and I become inspired to improve my talent in drawing anime characters.I just really enjoy watching it.Sometimes my mom would say that I'm not a child anymore but what can I do?I just can't help it,I really am an anime fanatic!!I really love watching anime characters wearing short skirts and having a unique color of the hair. It's also very cute watching their faces from normal to something being deformed.Just like when a character is shy,his or her body quickly melts or his or her face turns red as rose.Or if the characters sees his or her crush, his or her face will then blush and he or she will have excessive sweating in the face.I just really find them cute and very funny. They just fit my taste.Because of these anime movies,me and my younger sister became closer because she also likes to watch them.Sometimes,I bring some anime movies in our house and I watch them when I don't have anything to do.My mom have already warned me that if watching these anime movies affect my studies, then she will have to stop me from watching them. That's why I am trying my best to manage my time on studying and watching anime. So far,I'm doing a great job on managing my time.I also have great time sharing stuffs about anime with my classmates because they also watch them. They are also anime fanatics.Sometimes, they lend me some anime DVD's for me to watch.I also borrow some anime magazines from them.We really have fun searching for more anime movies in the internet.

I know that being an anime fanatic makes me look childish but I just really enjoy watcing it.We have our own opinions about anime but for me,ANIME ROCKS!!!

Whatchamacallit!!

Just yesterday, I was reading Readers Digest to kill time somehow. While I was reading, I read a very interesting portion there. It’s about names of things which most people are not familiar yet. Names that I think only dictionary editors know because they are very difficult to understand and not known at large people. I just want to share to you what I just read. I thought you ought to know them too.

Aglet-the little plastic of your shoelace is an aglet. When your aglet breaks, it’s tough to get the end of the lace to go through the hole.

Anatomical Snuffbox-you have two of these. It’s the hollow that is formed by the meeting of the tendons at the back of the hand and the base of the thumb.

Berm-when you’re digging a hole, you shovel the dirt into a pile next to the hole right? The space between the pile and the hole is the berm. Really.

Bollard-The little post you wind a boat’s rope around to tether the boat to the dock is a bollard. The same name is applied to the post in a row in the supermarket parking lot that are spaced wide enough to walk through but too close to it your shopping cart through.

Calk-Look closely at a horseshoe and you’ll see it has small things that stick out on the bottom so the horse won’t slip and break in a leg. Horses don’t know what they’re called either. They are called calks.

Cissing- When wet varnish separates into spots and streaks so part of what you’re varnishing doesn’t get covered at all, that is cissing.

Dottle- If you smoke a pipe, you are familiar with this. It is the half smoked tobacco you have to keep cleaning out of the bowl.

Duff- The decaying leaves, pin needles and weeds all over the ground in the forest. Duff is something like dottle on a large scale, only it usually smells better.

Flews- In case you never noticed, some dogs have big heavy flaps on the sides of their mouths, which are often covered with saliva. The flaps are called flews.

Harp- That metal thing holding a lampshade on a lamp. Sometimes you have to fiddle with the harp when you change a bulb.

Kerf- The slit you make when you start to saw a piece of wood. As you keep sawing, the kerf gets bigger and bigger until it disappear and you have two pieces of wood.

Kick- That’s the indentation in the bottom of a wine bottle. It’s supposed to add strength to the glass. It also makes looks as if it holds more than it does.

Philtrum- The vertical indentation in the space above your upper lip. For those with mustaches, it separates the left half from the right. For the rest of us, it doesn’t do much at all.

Pintle- An upright pin that a door hinge slips over and turns on. It takes two pintles to make the door swing.

Schizocarp- You probably played with the schizocarps when you were a kid, but didn’t know it. Those winged things from maple trees that you put on your nose and that spin like pinwheels when you toss them into the wind are schizocarps.

Snath- The handle of a scythe. If you break it, you are in trouble. How would you like to have to call hardware store and ask, “Do you sell scythe snaths, sir?”

Snood- The fleshy growth on a turkey’s face that helps makes him so ugly. It is hard to look good with a snood in your face.

Tang- The thin end of a knife blade that fits into the handle.

Zarf- Believe it or not, a zarf is a holder for a handless coffee cup.

Dingbat- See those cute little typesetter’s marks to the left of each bold face word in this article? They are dingbats. How about that?

So did you find those words funny and obscure?I just hope that I have contributed something in your knowledge now.I guess o you know a zarf from a dingbat. It is also nice to know some mind-expanding new words.Well,it pays to be a wide reader...

Being a UP student...

Being a UP student is a tough job at all.It requires all your efforts to continue studying here.It needs focus and determination and if you can't give these two factors, then don't expect to be one.

As a UP student,I have observed all the things that a UP student must and must not do in order to continue studying in this university. It's just like other ordinary schools except for its very advance teachings and lessons. But aside from that, everyday is just like a normal day in every other high schools. You can see students playing here, chattering and talking about their crushes and stuffs that are not school-related.You can experience fun and physical games here too.It is true that academics here are very important but it does not mean that activities or occasions such as JS Prom are not held here.In fact, the third and fourth year students of UP high school Cebu just had its Prom last Friday,February 9.We will also be having our Family day this coming February 25.Sometimes it is really stressful studying all the lessons here but it is worthed. We get to learn important things and get to solve more difficult problems in Math. Many think that UP students are intelligent and nerdy-type of people but many UP students are very fashionable and intelligent about the latest news especially showbiz info's.Many are also acquainted with sport and other stuffs like arts and dancing. Here, you can improve whatever talent you possess. You can be more confident about yourself once you get use to express yourself freely and that is what UP is all about. It is all about learning and expressing yourself. It is all about boosting your confidence and interacting with other people to make you more sociable.
Many people expect students who graduate in UP to be more sociable and shameless.Because it is one of the main objective of the school to expose us to people and to make ourselves a better person. It wants to make an improvement and to leave a mark in our lives. We are here to learn more,to improve not just mentally but also socially and physically. We are here to make new friends with other people and to learn with them with fun and excitement. We aren't here to be rebellious and to do the things that we want even though they are wrong.Yes,we are here to express our feelings but we also have our limitations and responsibilities. We are here to be disciplined and to be more responsible in our deeds.

Truly, studying in UP is not easy. But your hardships and sufferings will be nothing once you taste the sweet scent of knowledge that it will give you after those four years. You will truly regret if you waste the chance of being a UP student because you won't have miss chance of being a student of one of the best school in our country

Periodical Exam...

It's such a hectic day for me but I still managed to write this down. I want to share some of my experiences. We just had our periodical exam last, last week.It was such an exhausting week to all the high school students in UP including me.We barely have time to talk about sweet nothings with my friends because our heads are always focused on our school books.During the first day of the periodical exam,we, the second year students took the exam on Chemistry and Algebra. It was not a fiasco at all.If I would rate it,I can say that it was not difficult, it was just average. On the second day, we took up Social Studies and English subjects. It was fine because I have studied well on those two subjects. On the third day, the last day of the exam, was the most stressful day for me and my friends because we have to take up three subjects which are Biology, Filipino and Geometry. Geometry doesn't really seem to fit my taste because I'm finding it really difficult. Filipino is fine with me as well as Biology.
I'm glad that we have already surpassed that stressful week.I have seen some of the test results of the exam and it was not bad at all. I hope I can still see my name in the honor's list. Wish me luck!!

During the last day of the examination,we then went home with my friends. When I have arrived at the house,I then felt as if I'm flying freely again because I don't have to study anymore.I just watched television and savored the moments where in my mind is so peaceful.I watched DVD and cartoons and ate snacks.I continue watching television until I felt sleepy so I took a nap.
It was the first weekend after the examination that I did not read any school book at all.Even though I still think about the results of the examination,I tried to erase them in my mind.I want to take away all the pressures that entered my mind during that week.I continued watching television, texting with my friends and eating junk food.I watched a DVD which was a cartoon movie entitled "Ouran Highschool Host Club".It was such a nice movie and it was very funny too.I watched 20 episodes the whole day and I had a very great time watching it.My mm told me to sleep because she thinks that it is best for me to rest after that non-stop studying week.So after watching the entire movie,I then slept for several hours.

I had a really great weekend after the periodical examination.I was really satisfied because I've done what I wanted to do that time. When weekdays came,I faced it easily ,dealing with new lessons to study.Hope you also had a nice weekend after the periodical examination!!!

During the last day of of the exam, we then went home with my friends. When I have arrived at the house, I then felt as if I'm flying freely again because I don't have to study anymore. I just watched television and savored the moments where in my mind is so peaceful. I watched DVD and cartoons and ate snacks. I continue watching television until I felt sleepy so I took a nap.
It was the first weekened after the
